Savekeep is an adware browser extension, with an accompanying app whose purpose is unknown. (It simply opens the default web browser, then quits.) The extension causes ads to appear on pages that should not normally contain them. It has been seen being installed alongside InstallMac, as part of an adware-riddled installer that appears to be an installer for some other legitimate piece of software.
Removal
Delete all of the following browser extensions that you find: savekeep, saVe keeep and suave keepo. (See Identifications > Examine Browser Extensions for instructions on how to locate your browser extensions.) Judging from these names, it’s entirely possible that other name variants might exist, so if you see anything else remotely similar to “save keep,” remove it.
Move the following items to the trash. Note that, if you don’t know how to locate a file or folder based on the paths that I will give in the instructions, you should read Locating files from paths.
/Applications/Savekeep.app
You will also need to change the home page and search engine settings in your browser’s preferences.
